My husband and I adopted Ellie from Bideawee almost nine years ago. As soon as the women opened the door to the meet and greet room Ellie ran in so fast and jumped right into our laps. She chose us and we loved her from the minute we first saw her. Newly married, Ellie bonded us all together during our first year of marriage and move to a big city. She loved loved loved going for walks along the Hudson River more than anything else. Once we moved to Hoboken she was known around town and would frequently get biscuits and treats from shop owners who loved and appreciated her sweet and quiet temperament. When we first brought her home, we had gates and a crate ready but she quickly trained us and was like guys, really? I just love you so much I don’t even need any of this stuff. Nine years, three moves and two children later she was still the best dog we ever could have asked for. Our whole family will miss her so very much. I am so grateful that Bideawee rescued her and allowed us to have her in our lives. While we wish we had more time with her, as all pet owners do, I am forever thankful for her steadfast spirit and presence in our lives. She will certainly never be forgotten.
